Bangkok, 17 October, 2022 – The Global Association for the Attractions Industry (IAAPA) is holding the IAAPA APAC Trade Summit 2022 in Bangkok from 17-18 October, 2022, with a programme of discussion panels, keynote presentations, table exhibits, and networking opportunities.
The event features speakers and topics that are designed to inspire CEOs and executives, and aims to be a valuable platform for participants to update themselves on timely topics, share thoughts and ideas, and reconnect with fellow industry members.
The conference theme for day one on 17 October is ‘Success Built on Firm Foundations’ and will begin with opening remarks by Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, a former Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and now a leading businesswoman.
Following this, there will be three panel sessions throughout the day featuring invited speakers. The first of these is entitled ‘The Power of Corporate Values’ with all three speakers being IAAPA Certified Attractions Executive (ICAE). They are Ken Whiting, IAAPA Chairman and Whiting’s Foods; Hal McEvoy, IAAPA President and CEO, and Wuthichai Luangamornlert, Managing Director of Siam Park Bangkok.
The second session is entitled ‘Safety Starts at the Top: Crisis Prevention and Response’, which will include a video presentation by executives from Dreamworld Australia, including James Redgrove, General Manager – Safety Systems; Michelle Erasmus, Operations Director; Jeremy McLeavey, Manager, Continued Compliance and Reliability, and John Toma, Safety Assurance Specialist. Also speaking at the session is Chris Deere, Director of Supportlab, and the session host being Anna Danau, ICAE, Managing Director of Hospitality Intelligence LLC.
The day’s third session is entitled ‘What Makes a Leader? New Voices and Perspectives at the Executive Level’ with Wai Kuan Wong, Malaysia Airlines Global Head of Marketing, and Rainy Chan, The Peninsula Hong Kong former (and first female) General Manager, who will share their experiences and thoughts.
The conference theme for day two on 18 October is ‘Doing Things Differently’, with another three sessions scheduled throughout the day.
The first of these is entitled ‘Leadership Workshop: Diversity and Inclusion’ and will include a video presentation by top-level executives from Shanghai Disney Resort, including Joe Schott, President and General Manager, Andrew Bolstein, Senior Vice President of Operations, Murray King, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications, and Cici Li, Vice President of Human Resources. The session is facilitated by Jakob Wahl, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of IAAPA.
The second session is entitled ‘New Markets, New Experiences: Strategies for Success in the Post-Pandemic Industry’ and the third session ‘Green Leadership: Making a Sustainable Impact’ with Leonard Ng, Regional Director APAC of Singapore landscape architect Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl.
